The Sound Of Music Peaks at Perisher

PERISHER Valley will be alive to the sound of music this June long weekend, when 20 artists converge on Perisher playing across seven stages during the Peak Music Festival.

Music and fun times at Perisher, and the best news, it’s free entry to all venues.

Headline acts and snow lover’s favourites include Nathan Cavalaeri, Fat Picnic, Shantan Wantan Ichiban, Hussy Hicks, Fleetwood Max, The Steel Syndicate, Jack Biilman & the Black Tide and Jindabyne’s own Kesha Neve to name a few.

The festival lights up the resort as music lovers return for one of the most popular multi-day music festivals to kick off the official opening of the snow season.

Can life be better? Ski and snowboard in the morning, kick off your ski boots and slip on your dancing shoes to party the afternoon and night away.

This year, the Youth Stage returns to the Perisher Centre, shining the light on young emerging artists. Plus, plenty of family-friendly fun with free face painting, magic shows, balloon animals, and classic kids’ games will keep the whole family entertained.

Plus, don’t miss the Soul Defender truck stage on Front Valley where big-name artists will play, finishing with Shantan Wantan Ichiban on Sunday afternoon.

Nathan Cavaleri

Few Australian musicians have navigated a career as remarkable and transformative as Nathan Cavaleri. His live performances captivate crowds with a storytelling-driven show that blends his iconic guitar prowess with emotional depth and humour. From recounting encounters with icons like Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, playing to 60,000 fans in Zurich, to sharing how he rediscovered his passion for music during his darkest times, Nathan’s performances transcend nostalgia, bringing his past into the present in a way that feels fresh and alive.

Fat Picnic

Corrupted by a lust for groove with scars from Ska to show, 6-piece soul-splosion Fat Picnic are unanimously hailed as Brisbane’s premier high-energy party band. Their infectious energy, humour and every-genre-in attitude garnishes punchy horn lines and catchy choruses on a base of skank-funk, dub reggae, pop hooks and headbanging – culminating in a sweaty festival fiasco at every show.

Shantan Wanta Ichiban

Shantan Wanta Ichiban

Perisher sees the return of DJ Shantan, a party thrower who holds it down on triple j’s Friday House Party. Expect a premium mix of exotic rhythms, futuristic R&B, rare remixes and fun rap. When he’s not sound tracking your weekends of misadventure, he likes to unwind on his inner-city farm raising pedigree chickens.

Hussy Hicks

A Peak crowd favourite and most popular duo for several years, Hussy Hicks straddle the line between folk, blues, country, rock and roots, earning themselves a mighty reputation. From festival openers to festival favourites, the group appears at the biggest blues and roots festivals in Australia, the USA and across Europe.

The always popular Hussy Hicks.

Bortier Okoe

Composer, master drummer, dancer, multi-instrumentalist and singer from Ghana, West Africa, Bortier’s music is unique and irresistible. He sings messages of peace, anti-poverty, connections, resilience, and tolerance. Bortier has performed worldwide and is revered as one of the most talented multi-instrumentalists in the African music genre and one of Africa’s most inspirational musicians.

The Steel Syndicate

This band is rock meets horns fusion, in a live extravaganza that will blow your proverbial socks off. And once the socks are off, your feet start burning because the dance floor is on fire. Wall to wall real music, world-class musicianship and an onslaught of anthemic funk rock goodness.

The Steel Syndicate

Jack Biilman & The Black Tide

Jack Biilmann & The Black Tide has wasted no time becoming a blues/dark country/rock powerhouse since forming in 2022. The lineup of Pat Quinn Quirke (guitar), Alec Coulson (bass), Jono Warren (drums) and Biilmann on vocals and guitar already demonstrates a huge chemistry and feel despite playing together for a very short amount of time. The band commands attention with high energy, heavy grooves, and dynamics, but still maintains Biilmann’s signature brand of vulnerable storytelling.
