Predominately a rural town and a main industry of timber, Bombala is a small country town in the Southern Monaro. Situated on the Bombala River the town has a pleasant walking river trail adjacent to the main street, visit the Bombala Visitor Centre opposite the river and a short drive to the platypus sanctuary affords the chance to spot a platypus.

Travelling further south you reach the town of Delegate, a smaller town renowned for its wool industry. A key attraction is the historic Early Settlers Hut, of unique local significance dating back to the earliest European settlement.
