Radio stars visit Buller

Recently, Melbourne’s #1 Breakfast show Nova 100’s Jase and Lauren returned to Mt Buller, with hosts Lauren Phillips, Jase Hawkins and Clint Stanaway on the mountain for a short, but very sweet winter escape filled with snowball fights, mocktails, mountain chaos and some real heart.

Broadcasting live from the Arlberg House on Thursday morning, the team brought their trademark fun and energy to the slopes, celebrating the magic of Buller in peak season.

It was Jase’s son Hudson’s first-ever trip to the snow, and the crew embraced the chaos with every wholesome moment.

For Jase, it was all about making memories with his son:

“To be able to do this for the first time with my son… it was so cool.”

“Him and I were just out the front having a snowball fight. It was so cool.”

Hudson quickly became the star of the trip, braving sub-zero temps in Crocs and a T-shirt.

Lauren: “He’s in shorts and a T-shirt and Crocs. Now, if he’s not his father’s son, I don’t know what is.”

Jase: “Are you cold?”

Hudson: “No!”

Lauren also delivered one of the weekend’s most iconic moments, crawling through her snow-covered car boot at midnight in search of a snack.

“At midnight, I was like, I need a snack. Where am I going to get a snack at midnight up Mt Buller?”

“I was able to open the boot. And I’m climbing over the back seats trying to get the Pizza Shapes… and lo and behold, I got the Pizza Shapes.”

“And then I walked back through the snow, back into my bed, and I ate some Pizza Shapes in bed.”

Clint, meanwhile, tried to keep things under control, but was clearly loving the chaos:

“The whole [hire] shop was melting, we were all in thermals just watching Jase stress about colour matching ski gear.”

“I was sorta cheering for it,” he said as Jase panicked that Hudson might throw up in the car after a milkshake and winding drive up the mountain.

From family time and fresh snow to all the little things that make Buller such a special place, this quick trip captured the mountain’s spirit in all its fun, frosty glory.
