Mountain biking kicks off at Buller

Mountain Biking

MOUNTAIN biking on Mount Buller is set to be bigger and better than ever, with trail workers getting the network ready to ride.

Trials will be progressively opened from this Saturday, November 11 with the official opening on December 2, with shuttles expected to be operational and rental services in the village from that date.

Copperhead trail has been completely rebuilt and the team have reported they are thrilled with the results and excited about welcoming local riders to take it for a spin in just a few days.

Although the recent spells of snow, downpours and wild winds have added to the challenges of clearing and preparing the trails, the trail crew are eager to put down their shovels and get on their bikes to test ride the results for themselves.

Contour Works are back at Mt Buller working with the resort operations team to maintain and further improve the ride experience which is putting Mt Buller firmly back on the ‘must ride’ list again this summer.

The pump track is already getting good use in the Mt Buller village and Kooroora Hotel is open for meals and drinks when hungry and thirsty riders need to refuel.

Extensive accommodation is available in resort to support a riding stay with the trails just outside the door.

Bike wash facilities are available in the village and road riders are always welcome with superb views waiting at the top.

In more good news for Delatite trail fans the Mirimbah Store is opening across weekends from early December and now has a licence – so you can enjoy a cold brew as well as some tasty bites at the end of your ride.
