Summer celebration with Bright artists

THE summer exhibition at the Bright Art Gallery is a reason for celebration. After a challenging year of having one exhibition after another cancelled due to bushfires, followed by Covid-19, they are ready to open, in support of their regional artists.

Alpine Artists are the Bright Art Gallery's ever expanding artist members.

The summer exhibition - entitled Celebrating Alpine Artists - will feature paintings, photographs, sculptures, ceramics, glassware, jewellery, woodwork and fabric art.

Opening on November 28 it will run until January 25, 2021, with a small Christmas/New Year break.

In September the Gallery was saddened by the sudden loss of one of their renowned local artists, Brian Elvish, and as part of the summer exhibition, the ‘Brian Elvish Retrospective’ will celebrate his contribution to the local art world and community.

Brian was a traditional landscape painter, his oil paintings of local scenery, in particular the rivers and mountains he loved, feature in many homes.

Their owners have generously lent these to the gallery for what will be a wonderful tribute to Brian.

The Bright Art Gallery is managed and run 100% by volunteers and is a beautiful large gallery with three separate exhibition spaces.

So when you're planning your summer getaway in Bright, make sure the Bright Art Gallery is at the top of your list as ‘Celebrating Alpine Artists’ promises to be a delight for every visitor.
