SOUTHERN Cross Kid's Camp High Country is running a trivia night and silent auction fundraiser at the Delatite Hotel on Thursday February 9.
They are raising funds to run their camp for five days during the school holidays in April this year.
Southern Cross Kid's Camps began 20 years ago in the Yarra Ranges and have expanded to 16 camps across the country.
Mansfield is the 17th camp and made it's successfully debut last year.
The camps are for primary aged kids between seven and 11 years who are from within the foster or kinship frameworks and have experienced abuse or neglect.
They aim to give kids five days of happy memories.
"A lot of kids are insecure and come from pretty hard places, so it's about creating that really safe environment, letting them know they are safe here and can be themselves," said Holly Cameron, Camp Director.
"We jam–pack the week full of fun for them so they can be a kid again."
The camp is a run by volunteers and requires financial support from the community and approximately 30 volunteers to operate for the week – one buddy per child and additional operational support.
"Seeing kids returning each year is an amazing experience," added Holly.
"It's only a week, but for those kids it can mean so much more than that."
"The trivia night and silent auction is our main fundraising event for the year so it would be great to get lots of interest and bookings.
"All proceeds will go towards funding our next camp in April this year."
Dinner will be from 6pm and trivia from 7pm.
The cost is $20 per trivia ticket or $47 including dinner, with eight people per table.
