Cruising to the alpine resorts of Mt Buller and Mt Stirling in an EV can be made easier for those wanting to recharge or just a ‘top up’ before entering the resorts.
Along the way there are at least two recharging stations in Mansfield, one behind the FoodWorks supermarket in High Street – the back car park off Early Street – and the other at the BP service station on Mt Buller Road.
The BP service station has eight charging bays on Mt Buller Road.
A Vantage Fuels representative said the facility is available 24 hours and users pay through an app.
For those travelling to Mt Buller and Mt Stirling in EVs, drivers should take heed in having their vehicles recharged and properly set up for alpine freezing conditions.
A new addition to Mt Buller for the 2026 winter season is two Ocular EV charging stations, housing four charging outlets for any EV.
These stations are located in the Horse Hill Car Park and can be accessed by guests via credit card or through the mobile phone app.
However, when using these stations drivers should be aware of some general usage rules that guests must adhere to when using the charging stations.
Charging spaces are strictly for vehicles being charged.
Once your vehicle is sufficiently charged, please move your vehicle to an appropriate day or overnight car park.
Monitor your charge when you are away from your vehicle via an app.
Ensure you are parked on the correct side of the charging port to avoid pulling charging cables across adjacent vehicles.
Put the connector back in the holster once the vehicle is charged.
Leave a note on your vehicle to let others know if it’s okay to remove the cable once charging is complete.
If there is a problem with a charger, please contact Mt Buller Mt Stirling Alpine Resort on
(03) 5777 6077.
