Switzerland Verbier

Verbier is not only massive in its expanse it’s massive in its reputation as a gnarly and thrilling freeriding resort. The ski scape has a mind blowing 410 kilometres of trails ranging from easy to highly technical. Verbier is the gateway to the 4 Vallees ski area in Switzerland and along with its plentiful abundance of terrain the resort has vast vertical with the majority of runs being above the tree line. 80 lifts give visitors access to groomed runs and for those aching for an adrenaline rush this resort is top of the list. There is a solid devotion to off-piste and freeriding with many marked trails left ungroomed preserving powder lines and cultivating mogul fields. Verbier has a dedicated lift-served peak specifically for itineraries, all the marked routes from the summit on Mont Gele are ungroomed.

Beginners and intermediate snow lovers have choices galore. There are two first timer zones and a children’s snow garden located near the resort centre. Novice riders can progress on the slopes of Les Esserts or the Savoleyres sector. There’s plenty of rolling glades amongst the trees, chilled cruisers with powder stashes to be found allowing mixed ability groups to enjoy the snow escapades together.

Verbier embodies the traditional Swiss village with chalet style buildings, charming accommodation, fine dining, atmospheric pubs and even St Bernards at the helm. This resort is an absolute must-visit.
