THE annual Adams Ski and Golf Day is held on the first Friday in July (coming up this week July 1) at Mt Buller and the Mansfield Golf Course.

This fun event allows teams of four to enjoy the sporting attributes of skiing at Buller and playing golf in Mansfield while raising money towards Mansfield schools' snow sports programs.

This event has now raised upwards of $300,000 to date.

STAGE 1 – SKI & SNOWBOARD RACING ON BOURKE STREET, MT BULLER: Racing starts at 8.15am. It is not the fastest team that wins, rather the team with the least time difference between their 1st and 2nd runs in a Parallel Giant Slalom.

STAGE 2 – AN AFTERNOON OF GOLFING IN MANSFIELD: The ski racing will wrap up around 10am and everyone heads down the mountain to the beautiful Mansfield Golf Club. Teams gather from 11am with an 18–hole midday tee–off. The golf format will be 4–person Ambrose.

You don't have to be the fastest or the best at either skiing or golfing as consistency rather than speed is the objective around the downhill ski gates and teams are rewarded for having the smallest time differential between each rider's two runs.

For the snow leg four team members must complete both red and blue courses in the Parallel Giant Slalom.

Teams are ranked by lowest aggregate time differential for each team member.

If required, the lowest ranked team is decided by fastest aggregate time.

OVERALL LEG:

The same four team members must complete both snow and golf legs.

Teams are ranked by the combined lowest ranking for both ski and golf legs.

If required, the lowest ranked team is decided by the teams' minimum time gap.

Presentations occur at the golf club and a vast array of fantastic prizes are given out to the eight different category winners.

These prizes have been generously donated by the 38 secondary sponsors who also make this great event possible.

RT EDGAR CALCUTTA DINNER: The Calcutta will be held the night before on Thursday at ABOM Moosehead Bar.

Get your team together the night before to wax your skis, polish your clubs, help raise more money and get into the spirit of the event.

It's all about good times and friendly competition while raising money for local schools snow sports.

Teams can register by going to mtbuller.com.au and follow the events Adams Ski and Golf Day or individuals can contact race.dept@skibuller.com.au if they want to join.
