An alpine chill in the air was no match for the warmth and generosity inside The Wood Room at Arlberg House recently for the annual Snow Sisters dinner.
Particular thanks to Rick, Josh and staff for going above and beyond to ensure the success of the 2025 annual dinner which brought together more than 120 women for an unforgettable evening of celebration, connection and purpose — all in support of the Multiclass Sports Association – Victorian Snowsports.
Welcomed by Founder of Snow Sisters, Suzanne Rumble, heartfelt stories by Multiclass, lively bidding and a strong sense of shared commitment to inclusivity on the slopes was shared by all.
“The generosity shown by attendees, the many sponsors and donors throughout the night was nothing short of extraordinary,” Suzanne said.
“The raffle prize donations where extremely well received by all who won.
“All of us at Snow Sisters are deeply grateful to this incredible Mt Buller community,” Suzanne said.
“The funds of more than $28,000 raised will go directly toward supporting athletes with disabilities, giving them access to equipment, coaching and the chance to compete and connect through snow sports.”
Now in its 19th year, what began as a casual dinner amongst six girlfriends has evolved into one of Mt Buller’s most meaningful annual events.
The 2025 edition, held on Thursday, 17 July, marked a new chapter for the Snow Sisters, with a sold-out crowd, a stunning new venue, and a record-breaking night of fundraising.
Guests were welcomed with cocktails and canapés followed by a three-course culinary dinner experience, complete with flowing red and white wines.
The energy lifted even higher with the arrival of Olympic aerial skiing icon Jacqui Cooper, who inspired the room with her passion for resilience, sport, sense of humour and community.
The night’s centrepiece was once again the live charity auction, led by returning auctioneer David Speirs from Snow Australia.
Auction items captivated the room and prompted fierce (and generous) bidding, with standout prizes including:
• Cape Fahn Hotel, Thailand – A luxury private island escape for four guests
• Naeba Prince Hotel, Japan – A family ski holiday with ski-in/ski-out access and lift passes
• Pullman Maldives Maamutaa – Five nights in an ocean villa with all-inclusive luxury
• Private Jet European Tour – A once-in-a-lifetime 25-day journey across 9 countries via private charter
• Mt Buller Adventure Packages – Including private ski lessons, a snowmobile sunrise ride, and local gear by Nobody’s Princess
Also supporting the event was the extremely dedicated Rachel Wadsworth, manager at Breathtaker Hotel, Mathieu Lague the MC for the evening and Multiclass committee member as well as the team from the Multiclass Sports Association.
Entertainer for the evening, Paris Zachariou, has been a great support over the past few years and always has Snow Sisters singing and dancing the night away.
The event once again proved the power of women with a shared purpose — and a reminder that when women (and a few brave men) come together on the mountain, incredible things happen.
