A summer wedding at the Country Gardens & Maze

SUMMER is the perfect time for weddings in the High Country.

And what better place to hold your wedding ceremony that in the beautiful gardens of High Country Gardens, Gallery & Maze.

Although the venue only offers ceremonies, there is a wide choice of open spaces, more intimate little walled gardens or perhaps the long bordered walkways to choose from for that special occasion.

Owner and operator of the gardens, Nicky Goudberg said, "We can be very flexible with exclusive access and timing for weddings; we have a license for 150 people including the wedding party.

"The venue features several purpose–designed gardens for weddings – the wedding garden is where the ceremony is held, the connecting games room is where guests can have drinks after the event and play yard games while the wedding party have photos taken, and the heart garden is often used for register signing," Nicky said.

Canapes can be provided by outside caterers and can be served with Aprés ceremony drinks in the games room.

The five acres of gardens are there to explore and decided on where to be photographed both before and after the ceremony.

Nicky said an afternoon wedding from 4pm is the most popular as the gardens can become exclusive for the event.

Guests can also take time to admire the artworks of world renowned artist Tony Pridham.

High Country Gardens, Gallery & Maze is just a 15 minute drive from Mansfield, turn right off the Mt Buller Road into Jamieson Woods Point Road then turn right at Piries–Goughs Bay Road – the gardens are 6.78km on the right hand side just before you get into Goughs Bay.

Nicky and partner Tony Pridham are your hosts at the Gardens, Gallery & Maze and can guide you through all the arrangements and requirements you might have for your special day.

But weddings are not the only way Nicky and Tony greet guests.

The gardens, maze and studio are open every weekend and now with a Cafe on site, Nicky serves the best in home made scones with delicious teas or coffees or light lunch snacks.

And Wednesdays are special at the gardens and maze with Devonshire Teas being served as a mid–week treat.
