MANSFIELD was buzzing this weekend, as a variety of events showcased the best our town had to offer over the Labour Day long weekend.

High Street was teeming with people on Saturday morning, checking out the activities and products on offer at the Mansfield Pottery Festival.

All varieties of potters assembled, showcasing the diversity and beauty that the art form had to offer while local businesses served coffee, food and opened their doors to everyone.

Visitors young and old admired the earrings, mugs, pots and artwork for sale, including Member for Eildon, Cindy McLeish.

Only just up the road, the Cobber Stock Dog Spectacular continued with the best and brightest dogs and their trainers vying to top the competition.

The competition had started on Tuesday, with almost a week's worth of events and plenty of high–quality entertainment at the Mansfield Showgrounds.

Over on Mt Buller, mountain bikers finished the Victorian Gravity Enduro season with a double–header, racing in the Fox Superflow and experiencing the best downhills that the High Country has to offer.

The two–in–one event gave riders a variety of options to choose from and was a great way to round out Mt Buller's summer season of sport.

As day turned into afternoon, crowds descended on the 47th Merrijig Rodeo to watch riders battle it out on the back of bulls and horses.

"The rodeo was a cracking success, our biggest yet, with 4500 through the gates," said Merrijig Rodeo Secretary Donna Howton.

"The big crowd created a great vibe for our competitors to really put on a great show."

Sunday may have been quieter, however events continued to draw people to some of Mansfield's greatest landscapes.

The Tour de Trail kicked off bright and early with participants young and old enjoying the serenity of the Great Victorian Rail Trail, finishing up with a wonderful shared lunch.

Nature enjoyers also were able to experience Dueran's open garden event over lunch while also supporting the Mansfield Historical Society's Museum Project.

The event taught locals and visitors about local history while also showcasing some of the area's best gardens.

While there was plenty on offer, there is even more to come next weekend, priming March to be one of the biggest months for tourism in Mansfield.
