THE Friends of Venilale are running a mad hatters tea party to raise money for school, university and midwifery scholarships for students from the village of Venilale in Timor Leste.

The afternoon will feature music by both the Mansfield and District (MAD) Orchestra and the MAD Strings as well as special guest Victorian Honorary Consul for Timor Leste, Andrew Mahar AM.

Held in Helen and Andrew Crockett's garden at Glenroy Cottage, 280 Glenroy Road Mansfield, the $25 entry covers an afternoon tea of scones, sandwiches, sponges and a variety of cakes and slices with tea and coffee.

Fun and prizes are on offer for all those involved.

There are some 30 plus members involved who are once again volunteering their time to support a community group.

At present there are some 22 students are benefiting from this program.

Organisers are hoping that the Mansfield community will again support this worthy cause while enjoying a fun day.

The annual Ridgeline Walk usually finances this commitment but due to COVID and wet conditions has forced the regular event to be cancelled for the last three years.

Those interested can book online via TryBooking or pay at the gate on the day.
