WHEN you’re taking a break away from the everyday and heading to the High Country – particularly if you can spend time on Mt Buller – you won’t want to cook.

The Mansfield Regional Produce Store, on your way up the hill, has solutions to suit everyone when it comes to quick and easy, yet delightfully tasty meals.

When COVID-19 restrictions first went into place some four months ago, the store beefed up its selection of take home meals to heat and serve, as well as adding an extensive Gluten Free menu.

The range from ‘Gron Haus’ is growing weekly and includes soups, casseroles, pasties, curries, terrines, pastas, tarts and a whole lot more.

Many of the specialty delights are also produced in-house including their famous sausage rolls.

As well as the ‘meals to go’, The Proddy Store as it is affectionately known, also has loads of local and regionally produced gourmet foods.

Among the local goodies to tempt you are Jamieson Berries, The Produce Store relishes and pickles, Howqua Dale gourmets, Mt Buffalo Olives and Oils and to top off any meal with your coffee a delightful range of Ren Mar Chocolates – locally handcrafted, just to name a few.

Owner and operator of The Proddy Store, Gill Belle, said the ‘Grab and Go’ meals are a great way to cater for groups, families or just for couples or even for that single person who’d like to enjoy some new flavours.

The store also offers a range of regional cheeses, more than 80 varieties of local and regional wines, artisan breads and even Beechworth Honey.

For that special occasion The Proddy can pre-organise a special dinner – a menu to suit your tastes – and delivered locally, or as far as Mt Buller.

“Our menu can be designed to your special occasion requirements whatever it may be,” Gill said.

“Give us a call if you’d like to order something – we can talk about delivery / pick-ups if you’re not out and about.

And under consideration at present is a weekly delivery of meal packages to Mt Buller – for those staying longer – which can be delivered to your lodge.
