COVID restrictions are being lifted and the mountains are open for visitors again, so here is a little of what’s planned over the next few weeks – particularly on Mt Buller.

28 JUNE – 2 JULY – KID’S WEEK

All week long Mt Buller will celebrate the smallest guests with special, kid friendly activities on offer each day. Mt Buller mascots Blake the Flake and Barry the Pygmy Possum will be out and about so make sure if you find them to say g’day. Check the website for full list of activities.

1 July – 2 July ADAMS SKI & GOLF DAY

The annual Adams Ski & Golf Day is held on the first Friday in July at Mt Buller and the Mansfield Golf Course. This fun event allows teams of 4 to enjoy the sporting attributes of skiing at Buller and playing golf in Mansfield while raising money for a worthy cause. The fundraising event first commenced in 1999 to raise money towards Mansfield schools' snowsports programs and has now raised upwards of $300,000 which is an outstanding achievement by all involved.

4 JULY - SNOWRACER SERIES - GIANT SLALOM EVENT 1

The Snowracer Series are an ideal opportunity for school teams or individual racers to get that edge and additional race experience on course. The events are open to primary and secondary school children in both skiing and snowboard disciplines. Check the website for any changes due to COVID restrictions.

10 JULY - SNOWRACER SERIES - GIANT SLALOM EVENT 2

The second in the Snowracer Series. Not only are these events great adrenaline-charged fun, they are also an important lead up to the Victorian Interschool Snowsports Championships. More details to follow.

15 JULY – 17 JULY - 3AW LIVE BROADCAST

3AW are broadcasting LIVE Thursday to Saturday at the Mt Buller Chalet Hotel. Come and meet your favourite presenters from Melbourne’s #1 news & talk station including Ross & Russ and Tom Elliott.

15 JULY - SOUTH AUSTRALIAN SCHOOLS SNOWSPORTS

The South Australian Schools Snowsports events are held during the South Australian school holidays at Mt Buller in the third week of July each year.

Entry is open to all South Australian Schools from year 1 to 12. The competitions are held on easy to moderate runs that encourage participation and fun for all levels of competitor age, experience and skill level. Travel, accommodation, lift, lesson and hire packages for the South Australian Schools Snowsports week are incredibly well priced making for an affordable and unforgettable ski holiday and school event experience.

8 AUGUST - MOGUL SKI WORLD VICTORIAN INTERSCHOOLS CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

Ever since their addition to the Victorian Interschools Snowsports Championships the Cross Country disciplines of Cross Country Classical and Cross Country Relay (a skate event) have been very popular. They have also served as very important means of introducing many Victorian school children to the sport of Cross Country Skiing.

Over many years Mt Buller has provided a wonderful venue for this competition, and many of the sport's elite athletes have risen through the various Interschools Age Divisions and gone on to represent Australia at World Cups, World Championships, and also the Olympics.
