MOUNT Buller last Monday updated a statement regarding what the new policies and guidelines will mean for their resort and visitors.

“Mt Buller is committed to the health and wellbeing of all guests, employees and our community,” the statement read.

“The resort is following mandated policies and guidelines and expects everyone to observe government directives regarding non-essential travel and physical distancing.

“Our collective health and future depends on it.”

Following Premier Daniel Andrews' announcement on Monday last week, as of May 12 at 11.59pm some movement restrictions eased, which means that day trips are now allowed.

To align with these new restrictions, Mt Buller has modified their guidelines which are in place until May 31.

The resort advises visitors to check what is permitted, and noted the overarching recommendation is to limit travel to within your local area and keep movement to a day trip at most.

To protect all guests, employees and the wider community, the resort is following all government mandated guidelines and health recommendations and in their statement, asked visitors to do so as well.

To keep safe and protected, the resort has these measures in place and expect all members of their community to follow the government directives.

“Rigorous standards are being maintained for food handling,” the statement reads.

“Staff have been directed to self-isolate as per guidelines in the instance of illness or recent travel.

“Mt Buller is following all Australian Department of Health’s guidelines.

“No camping is permitted anywhere in the resorts until further notice.

“All public barbecues, playgrounds, tennis courts and other recreational facilities are closed until further notice.

“The government recommends you download the COVID-SAFE App and have it running when you are outside.”

Mt Buller already has, on average, 30cm of snow cover across the mountain as can be seen clearly on the resort webcams.

The resort, as always, advise that care should be taken on the roads and a 4WD is recommended (or carry chains) when snow has been falling.

They also wish to remind visitors to drive to the conditions as the road may be slippery in places in the current cold conditions.
