BRIGHT Brewery has been inducted into the RACV Victorian Tourism Hall of Fame this month after being named the state’s best Tourism Brewery/Winery/Distillery for the third consecutive year.

Bright Brewery founder Scott Brandon said he was thrilled with the Gold Award and immensely proud to have been inducted into the Victorian Tourism Hall of Fame.

“To win this award for the third year in a row is great recognition of all the hard work we’ve put into building our business and helping drive tourism to our region,” he said.

“We believe what is good for Bright is good for Bright Brewery and vice-versa.

“We are really proud of our contributions to the tourism industry and continue to champion our area through delicious beer, unforgettable adventures and embracing everything our region has to offer.”

Bright Brewery is a proud sponsor of dozens of local and regional events, festivals, and organisations, including the Alpine Cycling Club and the Bright Autumn Festival (plus many more) which attract visitors to the region.

The Brewery is also a founding member of the High Country Brewery Trail, which drives beer tourism to Victoria’s North East.

Entrants into the awards are required to write a 12,500 word submission showing their commitment to business excellence in areas including Sustainability, Marketing and Customer Service, and proving how their business contributes to the local, regional and state tourism industries.

The RACV Victorian Tourism Awards is the tourism and events industry’s annual event that acknowledges business excellence and performance.

Funded by Visit Victoria and hosted by the Victoria Tourism Industry Council, the Awards recognise the outstanding contribution by operators across the state.

Now in its 35th year, there were 126 submissions received across 31 categories, including the new award for Excellence in Accessible Tourism.

Also taking away a gold award on the night was the Alpine nature Experience: Igloo to Skidoo, silver awards went to the Falls Creek All Season Resort for Major Tourist Attractions, Ride High Country for destination marketing and the Cheeky Fox Retreat for Hosted Accommodation with the Man from Snowy River Bush Festival a finalist in the festival and events category.

Chief Executive Felicia Mariani said VTIC is proud and honoured to be entrusted to deliver such an important event for the industry that highlights the innovation and passion operators exhibit every day in creating magical moments for their visitors.

This year also saw the introduction of two RACV People’s Choice awards; voted by the public, with more than 11,000 votes cast with one of the 2019 winners being Beechworth Lake Sambell Caravan Park.

“It’s wonderful to have the public involved this year bringing a consumer perspective to the Awards. I want to thank RACV for supporting the creation of these categories this year and adding a different dimension to the 2019 program,” she said.
