Mt Hotham attraction wins double silver at Victorian Tourism Awards

Mt Hotham eco-tourism operator Alpine Nature Experience has again been recognised at the Victorian Tourism Awards, winning silver in both the Eco-tourism and Unique Accommodation categories, against a stellar line-up of competing tourism products.

These wins confirm that the 2019 Gold Victorian Tourism Award winner is going from strength to strength, expanding their ‘Memorable Moments in Nature’ offering into a year-round operation that has caught the imagination of visitors, and highly impressed the judges.

Alpine Nature Experience launched at Mt Hotham in 2017, under Tourism North East’s Kickstarter program, and their winter eco-glamping is now one of Mt Hotham’s key winter experiences. Snowshoe walks, tepee tents, cheesy fondues and fireside comforts make this a truly unique alpine experience, not found anywhere else in Australia.

In 2021, Alpine Nature Experience launched their summer tree-top tent eco-glamping, along with guided gourmet hikes on the Falls to Hotham Alpine Crossing and “Hike ‘n’ Feast” along the popular Huts walk at Mt Hotham. These summer offerings have proven to be very popular with visitors, and place Mt Hotham firmly on the must-do list for walkers and explorers.

Mt Hotham Resort Management Board CEO Amber Gardner said, “The resilience of Alpine Nature Experience through the past 2 years is testament to the quality of their operation. We congratulate Jean-Francois Rupp and his team for their well-deserved wins, following their first place in 2019.”

“If guests would like to experience their own memorable moments in nature with Jean-Francois, they can head to the website to plan their own unique summer or winter escape to Mt Hotham.”
