WHAT is a day out on Mt Buller if it does not include food?
Catering for all cultures, tastes and budgets there are literally dozens of food outlets on and off the mountain to please the fussiest eaters.
From pizza, fish and chips to hot dogs and kransky (on the wombat ski run) to poke bowls, sandwiches, pastries, curries, breads, snacks or if it is just a good hot coffee or hot chocolate after a hectic day on the slopes – you choose.
And the choice is also whether you go for the family budget in eating or you prefer to go more upmarket and fine dining – there is something for everyone.
A taste of Melbourne also happens on Buller with the likes of The Villager bringing specialty chefs from the big city to give Buller visitors a taste of something special, or perhaps a drop into the Bird Cage at the Chalet, or venture into La Marzocca also at the Chalet – all with city tastes to tempt.
The Whitt this season also brings specialty chefs from Melbourne.
The ABOM complex has a variety of eateries including the Bistro for a hearty meal, Moguls Café inside the ABOM, the Food Hall for quick meals – grab and go or sit down at a table – a huge variety of foods to choose from and then there is the Moosehead at the ABOM – for that Whisky Bar and foods – it is all go, go, go.
Of course, many of the lodges on the mountain also have restaurants for those who perhaps like the cozy and more intimate dining.
For those fast snack meals why not source out the Burger Haus burgers – next to George’s Ski Hire or the Downhill Donuts – under the staircase in the Village Square – great hot donuts to eat on the run.
