IT’S been a busy summer for Alpine Resorts Victoria (ARV) as we’ve worked to deliver resort upgrades designed to improve the guest experience.
Water has been a key focus and we’ve completed essential repairs to the liner of the Boggy Creek Reservoir.
We understand how important water security is for our stakeholders, and these works will ensure the longevity of the reservoir so it can continue to supply essential water, including for the snow factories.
We were granted permission to start to refill the reservoir in January, and I’m pleased to report the water level was sitting at more than 33 per cent at the start of May.
This is the most water that has been in the reservoir on that date for the past four years.
You’ll see lots of new directional signage within the resort and we’ve increased capacity in the Village Square Plaza by 50 seats.
There has also been upgrades to toilets in the Plaza, Horse Hill and at Celia’s, including four additional toilets and 18 replacements.
We’ve also started replacing the pavers in the Village Square with a concrete aggregate. The first stage of the works outside the supermarket is complete and further work will be done during the next green season.
The contract to deliver winter transport services went to tender over summer, and BusFleet was the successful provider.
The contract runs for five years and includes the provision of the carpark and village shuttles, the RideShare service from carparks to accommodation and the Village Express bus from Mirimbah.
Among the transport upgrades for 2025, we have a new web-based app and our village shuttle will be running until 10pm ensuring guests can head out for dinner and return to their accommodation in comfort.
We’ve also been busy at Mt Stirling with improvements to carparks and bus stops.
One key change for 2025 is at the Mirimbah entry gate. Alpine Resorts Victoria will no longer be accepting cash at the gate and all resort entry permits will need to be purchased via credit or debit card. Entry passes can also be booked online at mtbuller.com.au before you travel.
We look forward to welcoming you to the resorts this winter.
Cheers - Alan
