Another big success

ALTHOUGH the golf course portion of the day got a little wet, the annual Adams Ski and Golf Day got off to a cracker start last Friday up at Mt Buller.

The fundraising event first commenced in 1999 to raise money towards Mansfield schools' Snowsports programs and has now raised upwards of $300,000.

This year there was 64 competitors and 16 teams in the event and the final amount raised for the day was $30,500.

The $30k+ is for local school Snowsports programs that will enable many children to participate in snow sports for the very first time.

It all kicked off with a competitors' dinner at the ABOM Moosehead with 50 attendees, and the always enjoyable RT Edgar Calcutta fundraiser.

The winning team was Team Rossignol, consisting of Rob Fuleky, Campbell Sallabank, Dave Speirs and Andrew Charlton, with Sultans of Swing coming in second and Buller Central third.

Bluebird Days came last on the golf course.

Other winners included Guy Thompson as the fastest individual and Matt Daly hit the longest drive.

“Adams Estate Agents wish to thank Buller Ski lifts and especially general manager Laurie Blampied’s tireless support for the last 20 years to successfully organise this great and somewhat unique event where all proceeds go to the local Mansfield schools to support their skiing programs back at Mt Buller,” said Mark Adams, managing director of Adams Estate Agents.

“It was a great day, everybody loved it, and there’s a lot of newcomers who are keen to return next year.

“Adams Estate Agents have plans to continue to be the naming and major sponsor for many years to come.”
